Chasing the perfect sunrise photos at Balmoral Beach with Zoey Cocks

Late last year, I had the pleasure of shooting with Zoey Cocks from Vivien’s Model Management. We arrived early at Balmoral Beach, just as the first light of sunrise cast a warm glow over the water—a perfect start for a morning of creativity.

Zoey wore two beautiful sets of bikinis from Ruby State Swimwear. We began with a bold red set, capturing vibrant and confident shots in the soft, golden light. After a while, we moved into the shade for a quieter moment, where Zoey wore a perfect neutral set while we enjoyed fresh mangoes—a quintessential summer vibe.

As the day progressed, we grabbed a giant palm leaf and headed to the water. Zoey switched into a sleek black bikini from Sommer Swim, creating dynamic and elegant images that reflected the tranquil beauty of Balmoral Beach. Her natural ease in front of the camera and ability to move effortlessly made the entire shoot a joy to capture.

All images were shot on 35mm film using my go-to Canon EOS 3 with a 24-70mm f/2.8L II lens, and close-up details captured with a 100mm macro lens. Film photography brings an unmatched authenticity and texture to these images, with no retouching or digital manipulation—just the beauty of the light, location, and Zoey’s presence.

If you’re curious about the film stocks I use, you can find them at Georges Cameras.
